MY ACTIVITIES DURING THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 4, 2014
What a busy week this has been for me shopping for Emma and
moving her into the prestigious Ivy League Dartmouth College in Hanover, New
Hampshire! She knows and I know that she's truly Blessed to be attending her
dream-come-true Ivy League Dartmouth College. I expect her to continue to be academically
successful in her studies and make this world a better place! As I previously
posted, Emma's dorm room is amazing now, and has her special flair and touch
that way she had envisioned it after spending hours decorating it late
Wednesday night. We ended up having a great late dinner with our Shih-Tzu
Princess at a close to the campus late night awesome pizza place called
"Everything But Anchovies". Then Emma spent the night at my hotel
suite with me and Princess - since hardly anyone on her floor was staying at
her dorm. She and Princess slept in my deluxe king size bed - while I slept on
my sofa bed.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2014
I took Emma back to her dorm so she
could shower and shampoo her hair with her own hair products that I bought.
Then Emma gave me two loads of her dirty clothes from her canoe trip to wash at
my hotel since she didn't have any quarterrs. After almost 2 hours waiting for
Emma her to shower and do her hair and get dressed, I took her and Princess
shopping in Lebanon, NH for college supplies at Staples and for a wireless HP
Printer and ink cartridges (so she can print from her iPhone and the new
13" MacBook that I bought her) and some sustainable foods and other stuff
for her at JB's Wholesale in Lebanon, NH. JB's is just like Costco - so I felt
at home shopping! I got Emma and myself ice tea and a slice of delicious pull-
pork pizza at BJ's. Afterwards, I dropped her off at her dorm and she spent the
night there since her roommate Leigh was also there.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2014
I drove to Main Street at Dartmouth to
the "Always Trendy Store" and bought Princess a green-platted
Dartmouth jacket and a green Dartmouth leash, a Dartmouth key-ring for Emma and
a Dartmouth T-shirt for me since Emma already has loads of Dartmouth clothes
that I bought for her in April when we were here. Then after I inadvertently
went nearby to the Local post office in Hanover, I met Emma and her LA college
friend Raven at the Dartmouth HINMAN post office to pick up the two large boxes
of Emma's stuff that I packed and shipped to her at Dartmouth. Raven had a big
box there as well that her mom had shipped to her - so I loaded the girls'
boxes and drove them took to their respective dorms to unload the boxes and
then dropped Emma and Raven off for an event on campus. Then I went to L.L.Bean
to pick out some things and had the store hold some thermal boots, socks,
sweaters and coats for Emma to approve and try on on Saturday. Then I went back
to JB's to get a clothes Steamer, a desk fan and more stuff that I think Emma
will need. Then I drove nearby to Wal-Mart and bought Emma a tall floor fan,
light bulbs for her lamp, and some microwaveable ceramic bowls & plates and
some utensils. While I was at Wal-Mart in New Hampshire shopping for Emma, one
of my great saxophone players named Doug Webb called me and asked me to play
with his all-star fusion band featuring some of my "Mind Transplant"
fusion music at The Baked Potato on September 19th. I accepted!! I need to
start playing every gig I can get now - in order to continue solely paying for Emma's
tuition at Dartmouth, which cost as much as Harvard, Princeton, Yale, USC
and.', etc. I need a hit record!! So I'm now making myself available to play,
record and tour with anybody who is interested in hiring me, as long as the
music is good. There's only two types of music: good music and bad music! I
don't care if it's rock, jazz, funk, r&b, pop, folk or country - because I
play it all with the same integrity!! After shopping at Wal-Mart, I drove back
to my suite at the Residence Inn and took Princess for a walk and fed her. Then
she and I went to the laundry room at our hotel and washed Emma's sleeping bag
and clothes from her 5-day canoe trip until 12:10am on Saturday. Then I took
Princess back our suite and walk across the courtyard of my hotel to Juan's Margaritas
Restaurant to have a well-deserved drink. I've had great margaritas in Los
Angeles - but this place had the tastiest and best variety of margaritas ever -
made by beautiful bar-maid Morgan. I ordered a crushed ice/frozen Blood Orange
Margarita (Sauza Blue Silver Tequila, Cointreau and St. Germain Liqueur with
blood orange squeeze) and it was strong! After only sitting there for 10
minutes, a guy named Hank with his girlfriend or wife ordered me a shot of a
smooth vodka mixed drink called "Wow Wow". That was very nice of him.
He and his wife/girlfriend left and after awhile Bar-maid Morgan suggested that
I try the Silver Star Margarita , which I ordered on the rocks. It was even
better than the amazing Blood Orange Margarita and even stronger. At 1:30am
this morning, I walked 50 feet back to my hotel suite smiling to find Princess
waiting and staring at me with a "Where the hell have you been" look
on her face! I guessed she could tell that I had been up to something from the
look on my face - so I started singing the Beyoncé song "I've Been
Drinking", and all was OK . Ha ha .
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2014
Princess and I picked Emma at Starbucks
next to Dartmouth and. In my trunk were the clothes that I bought her last
night, and the clothes and sleeping bag from her recent 5-day Dartmouth
Freshmen Canoe strip that I washed and dried last night for her at my hotel.
Princess and I were wearing our Dartmouth jacket and T-shirt. Then we took Emma
to L.L. Bean have her try on the subzero winter coat, 2 thermal rain proof/snow
proof boots, a warm thermal sweater, thermal long johns and a bunch of wool
socks that I had them holding for her! She loved everything that picked out and
bought for her. While she waiting for me at the cash register at LL Bean, I walked inside the mall down to Eastern Mountain Sports and picked out and bought Emma a solar
panel natural light, a long down coat, knit beanie, ear warmer, infinity scarf,
more wool socks, and mittens by North Face and EMS and had them hold the items while I walked back to LL Bean to pay for the things I bough there. Then I took Emma to EMS to show her and had try on the things that I had bought for her while show was at LL Bean waiting for me.
Emma needed more
clothes hangers - so we drove down the street to Wal-Mart and I bought her a
bunch of hangers, 4 nice tights, pepper spray and a stress whistle while
Princess and Emma waited outside in my rented SUV. Then Emma Alexandra Mouzon,
Princess and I went to dinner at Chili's before driving back to Emma's dorm to
unload all of the purchases. I had to assemble the floor fan that I bought Emma
and helped her unpack all of her new winter clothes that I bought, and the
clothes that I washed and dried for her at my hotel last night. Princess and I
just got back to our hotel. We'll meet Emma early in the morning for breakfast
and hangout with her at her dorm before Princess and I have to drive to Boston,
return the SUV to Hertz Car Rental at the Logan Airport in time to catch our
flight back to LA. Emma's now set for the winter at Dartmouth.
What a Blessing
it is to be a dad and father! A father helps to create a child - but it's the
devoted dad who nurtures and raises a child. Anyone can be a father - but not
all of us can be a devoted dad!!
